Tax-Efficient Giving

Make Your Gift Go Further

Your support helps us protect and champion National Parks for everyone, forever. By giving in a tax-efficient way, you can make your donation go further, often at no extra cost to you. Below are four easy ways to make your support go further.

1. Gift Aid

If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you. All you need to do is make a simple declaration when you donate, which we provide through our secure online donation system, or on our paper donation forms.

Example:  A £100 donation with Gift Aid becomes £125 for Campaign for National Parks.

How to add Gift Aid:

You can opt in when donating online, or complete our online form.

Did you know? Gift Aid can be backdated! If you’ve donated to us in the last four years without completing a Gift Aid declaration, we can still claim Gift Aid on those gifts.

2. Donate Shares with ShareGift

You can also support us by donating shares you no longer need through ShareGift, the share donation charity.

How it works:

ShareGift collect small lots of shares and donate the funds created to charities. Often unwanted because they are too small to sell, these shares can be transferred to ShareGift at no cost to the shareholder, aggregated and sold to benefit different registered charities. ShareGift can also accept larger donations of shares. If you have shares that for whatever reason you no longer want, you can help support our work by donating them to ShareGift and mentioning Campaign for National Parks.

Why this matters:

  • No need to sell or manage the shares yourself
  • No capital gains tax to pay on the donation
  • Your gift supports our mission to protect National Parks

How to donate:

Visit www.sharegift.org. Complete their donation form and mention Campaign for National Parks as your chosen charity. ShareGift will handle the rest. You can also contact them at [email protected]

Did you know? Choosing to donate ShareGift to Campaign for National Parks directly helps us receive more funding, as their grant awards are directly informed by donor suggestions.

3. Giving Through CAF

You can also give through your Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) account.

CAF makes it simple to give directly from your CAF balance, with the tax already reclaimed, making your donation more efficient and flexible.

Benefits of giving through CAF:

  • Simple and secure
  • Tax already handled by CAF
  • Choose to give anonymously if you prefer
  • Easy to give one-off or regular donations

How to give:

Log in to your CAF account and search for Campaign for National Parks (Charity number: 295336). Or explore more about opening a Personal Account here: https://www.cafonline.org/personal-giving

Did you know? Many of our donors already make regular and one-off gifts through CAF.

4. Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is one of the most tax-efficient ways to support National Parks. Also known as Give As You Earn (which is the scheme run by CAF), this type of giving allows you to donate straight from your salary before tax is deducted, meaning your gift costs you less.

For example:

If you’re a basic rate taxpayer and donate £10, it only costs you £8. If you’re a higher-rate taxpayer, it could cost even less.

Why Payroll Giving works:

  • Donations are taken automatically from your pay
  • You receive full tax relief immediately
  • It’s an easy way to give regularly and sustainably

The best way to get started is to ask your employer whether they offer Payroll Giving. If your employer doesn’t yet offer payroll giving, why not ask them to take part? You can share this webpage with them: https://www.cafonline.org/corporate-giving/effective-ways-to-give/give-as-you-earn

Did you know? £60 million was donated through Give As You Earn in the financial year 2022/23

However you choose to give, your support helps us protect and champion National Parks, now and for future generations. Thank you.
