Would you like to shape the future of the National Parks in England and Wales?

Campaign for National Parks is the only national charity dedicated to protecting, promoting and enhancing the thirteen National Parks in England and Wales.  Our vision is that the National Parks are beautiful and inspirational places enjoyed and valued by all, and our mission is to inspire everyone to look after and enjoy these unique and special places.  We believe the National Parks are a special part of our natural and cultural heritage.  They are living landscapes and make a significant contribution to the economy and the nation’s health and well-being.  However, they are also under continued threat from inappropriate development, intensive agriculture, increased traffic and the challenges of sustaining small rural communities.

Campaign for National Parks was established to campaign for the creation of the National Parks in 1936 and since then we have continued to fight for their special qualities to be maintained and improved.  We are a small charity with a track record of achieving change.  We work closely with the Park Societies in each National Park and a wide range of environmental and amenity organisations.  We are currently focused on ensuring we can maximise our impact at a time of rapid change in public policy in areas such as landscape protection, nature recovery and climate change.

We are now seeking three trustees to join our board to provide strategic direction and governance of the charity.  We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with an interest in or experience of the National Parks or other protected landscapes.  Expertise in one or more of the following areas would be welcome but are not essential: campaigning, income generation, communications and marketing, small charities, rural communities or nature recovery and resilience.  We are keen to receive applications from England and Wales.  We hold four Board meetings a year in London and trustees typically allocate up to twelve days a year to the charity.

Campaign for National Parks is committed to achieving greater diversity in its Board, and welcomes applications regardless of sex, gender, race, age, sexuality, belief or disability.  For further information about the organisation and details of the role please read the recruitment pack by clicking here.
