Green match funding to help Campaign for National launch ‘National Parks: New Perspectives’ bursaries

Help us support the next generation of National Parks communicators to share their stories about, and visions for, National Parks by donating via the Big Give this week – where your donation will be doubled at no extra cost to you.

Donations made via the Big Give’s #GreenMatchFund from 12noon on 22 April to 12noon on 29 April will be matched – meaning your donation will be worth double to us. We’re hoping to raise £2,500 which will be match- funded up to a total of £5,000, enabling us to launch at least three bursaries.

National Parks: New Perspectives

The National Parks: New Perspectives bursaries will engage with demographics currently underrepresented in National Parks. They will use creative formats to engage new audiences enabling them to express their vision of inclusive and accessible National Parks in their own words and language(s); developing compelling messages and solutions, which will form the basis for influencing decision-makers as well as inspiring communities to take practical action on the ground.

With youth unemployment rapidly rising and more people turning to nature to help boost their health and wellbeing, we want to not only support early career creators with a paid opportunity which will hopefully open doors to future work but also to inspire their peers to love and care for our National Parks.

National Parks for all

“National Parks are often seen through the lens of a certain demographic,” said Anita Konrad, Chief Executive of Campaign for National Parks, “but we know that they’re enjoyed by all, something that has been especially evident over this past year. These bursaries will help amplify the voices of younger people and those from under-represented communities while also supporting them in their careers. We can’t wait to launch them and see the results.

“We’re delighted to have been chosen to take part in the Big Give, it’s a great opportunity to help individual supporters’ donations go further – one donation, double the impact. We get to keep any donations so even if we do not hit our target, your money will go towards these bursaries. We hope to exceed our target though, which would enable us to launch more bursaries than we’d originally planned.”
