Help us maintain planning protections for National Parks

We URGENTLY NEED YOU to help us retain the strongest level of protections against damaging development in National Parks.

The Westminster Government is currently consulting on changes to national planning policy. One of the proposed changes is the removal of the phrase ‘which have the highest status of protection in relation to landscape and scenic beauty’ in the paragraph about designated landscapes.

This might not seem like much but this simple phrase is an important element of the additional protections for places we all love so much.

Please help us maintain strong protections by emailing planningpolicyconsultation@communities.gsi.gov.uk by Thursday 10 May with the below details:

Subject: NPPF consultation response

Response to Q35: I do not support the removal of the phrase ‘which have the highest status of protection in relation to landscape and scenic beauty’ in the first sentence of paragraph 170. It is essential that this phrase is reinstated in order to ensure that there is no doubt that additional planning protections continue to apply in National Parks.

The deadline for submitting responses is Thursday 10 May. It would be helpful if you could copy your response to info@cnp.org.uk .

You could also add examples from your own experience to let the Government know why it is so important that National Parks have effective planning protection.

Campaign for National Parks is the only national charity dedicated to the protection and improvement of the National Parks.
