External Landscape - the National Parks of Wales - Exhibition of Paintings by Rowan Huntley
31 August 2005
"Eternal Landscape - the National Parks of Wales", is an exciting exhibition of new works by Cardiff based landscape artist Rowan Huntley. This colourful exhibition has been staged specifically to benefit the Council for National Parks (CNP), the national charity that works to protect and enhance the National Parks of England and Wales and areas that merit National Park status.
The exhibition, which will be held in Electric Mountain, Llanberis, from 5th of September, depicts the beauty and diversity of the Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire Coast and Snowdonia National Parks. "Eternal landscape" is a stunning collection of paintings, from the well known to the hidden. Mountains, waterfalls, moorland, sea cliffs all feature prominently together with information demonstrating why the Parks exist and the importance of their protection.
Rowan Huntley says: "Education regarding the significance of National Park designation and the maintenance of such status, leads the way to better understanding of the work involved in safeguarding our natural environment for the future. I hope that "Eternal Landscape - the National Parks of Wales" will contribute to this education in a significant way and raise money to assist CNP in the continuation of their crucially important work."
Sir Chris Bonington, an Honorary Life Vice President of the Council for National Parks, says "This exhibition is an exciting and innovative way to highlight the importance of our National Parks and the vital work of CNP. Visually captivating, 'Eternal Landscape' celebrates the diversity and beauty of the Welsh National Parks and uniquely demonstrates the essential need for the continued protection of these and other such areas in the UK."
The Exhibition is open from the 5th to 25th September at the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre, Llanberis. Entry is free. Further information is available at www.rowanhuntley.co.uk
