Say no to Horncroft quarry

The ink on the confirmation order may only just be dry but the South Downs has immediately come under threat from a new sand quarry.

Located in the heart of the National Park, the sand quarry would be operational over 20 years and would see 1.5 million tonnes of material extracted.

CNP and others have reacted strongly to the proposal. We do not believe that the application should be approved. The quarry would damage the landscape, wildlife and public enjoyment of the area (see images of the proposed site). It would also not pass the strict policy that the Government has set for quarrying in National Parks. Read our President Ben Fogle's column which supports our campaign.
