Work with business
CNP has a special relationship with a number of businesses that operate in the National Parks. It is called the Corporate Forum for National Parks and its members have all pledged to take into account the special nature of the Parks in their operations.
The Corporate Forum for National Parks was set up in the early 1990s and most of our current members have been part of the Forum for many years. The members are:
Burlington Slate
Hanson
National Grid
Northern Powergrid (formerly CE Electric)
RWE npower
Tarmac Ltd
Forum members produce a declaration of commitment to how they will work within National Parks. Read the latest document for more information.
Both CNP and Corporate Forum members believe that dialogue with all kinds of stakeholders is invaluable in increasing understanding about what drives big business in National Parks, and about why people feel so strongly about protecting the Parks.
So while we don’t always agree, we usually understand any difference in position. Member companies find the Forum valuable because it gives them an opportunity to learn about how other companies operate in these sensitive environments and it opens up new stakeholder networks.
