Project examples
Here are some examples of the wonderful projects in our National Parks that our Park Protectors may well consider for their award:
The Exmoor Mire Restoration Project
Rewetting the dry and damaged peatlands in the Exmoor National Park which will mitigate against global warming, restore moorland habitat, improve the ecology of the River Exe, and improve water quality for all river life
Operation Bumblebee
Establishing a new colony of shrill carder bees in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, one of just six sites in the UK where this species can be found. This will in turn restore vital wildflower habitats
Traditional Boundaries, Traditional Skills
A project which is helping to revive local skills and repair and conserve traditional boundaries in the Northumberland National Park
