Ours to look after

Many of us are not able to give as much to charities as we would like to during our lifetime, but we can all help our favourite causes by leaving them a legacy or gift.

Legacies are a vital source of income for us here at CNP. In 2008 we were fortunate to receive generous legacies from the estates of Mr Michael Benton and Mrs Ivy Thakera, which helped us to continue with our final campaigning push in 2009 to secure the South Downs National Park. A legacy from the estate of Mr Albert Derek Siviter in 2009 was in memory of the many years he spent in our wonderful National Parks, and an expression of his wish to keep them safe for others to enjoy. He particularly loved the Lake District, the Peak District and Snowdonia National Parks.

You too may have grown up in their stunning surroundings, spent many happy years exploring their peaks and dales, or you may have only just recently discovered their rich heritage and untamed beauty. Whichever applies to you, these beautiful places, shaped by nature and man over thousands of years, are ours to look after and pass on unscathed to the next generation of walkers, climbers and lovers of Britain’s special landscapes.

‘My gift will help to ensure that the glorious beauty, wildlife and special qualities of each of our wonderful National Parks are protected and enjoyed by future generations’ Sir Chris Bonington
