Future strategy

The vision for National Parks in the immediate post war years was clear: our finest landscapes needed protecting for current and future generations to enjoy, and they provided unparalleled opportunities for peaceful recreation and spiritual renewal.

Still relevant today…

While the nature of the threats to National Parks has altered, the pressure on their landscapes is as great as ever and set to increase.

CNP’s role is unique because we are the only independent watchdog dedicated to protecting the whole family of National Parks. We fight major threats and co-ordinate the efforts and concerns of some 40 member organisations and 2,000 individuals and Friends. Learn more about our current campaigns.

National Parks belong to all of us

We will continue to promote the National Parks to the widest possible audience, not only to ensure that the Parks’ special qualities are enjoyed by all, but so that a new generation of supporters emerges willing to protect the Parks in the future.

Act now for National Parks

You might enjoy the National Parks for quiet contemplation or relish the challenge of navigating their highest peaks. Whichever you prefer, supporting CNP is the most effective way in which you can help to protect the Parks for future generations.
