Invitation to help celebrate our 75th Anniversary

As part of the Campaign for National Parks' ongoing celebrations for its 75th Anniversary, a fantastic ‘Party in the Park’ has been lined up in the grounds of the National Park Visitor Centre, near Libanus on Sunday 25th September.
With Pen y Fan as its stunning backdrop, the Party is being staged in the idyllic grounds of the National Park Visitor Centre, near Libanus between 11am and 5pm and the best news of all – it’s FREE! Car parking will be provided for which there will be a minimal charge of £1.00.
It’s a great day for the whole family to enjoy an amazing line of fun and exciting activities including laserball, archery, bouncy castle, face painting, paintball, pottery, owl display, music, jewellery demonstrations, bike hire and guided walks. There’ll also be some great live music entertainment with the Brecon Town Band performing from 2pm-4pm.
Norma Barry, Head of Welsh Affairs for the Campaign for National Parks, commented:
“Our National Parks are here to be enjoyed by everyone. The Party in the Park will, hopefully, attract repeat and new visitors of all ages to the Brecon Beacons. It promises to be a fun day with lots of activities, including a prize raffle.”
She added: “The Campaign for National Parks is particularly grateful to the support it has received for the organisation of this event from the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority and sponsors, which include Castell Howell, Waterstone Homes, Brecon Carreg, HCC: Meat Promotion Wales, Real Crisps and the Welsh Sausage Company.”
“We are delighted that the Campaign for National Parks has chosen the Brecon Beacons National Park to host its 75th Anniversary Park,” said Mrs Julie James, Chairman of Brecon Beacons National Park Authority. “So what better way to commemorate an anniversary than a fun day of activities, fabulous music and entertainment that the whole family can enjoy? We hope that as many people as possible will come along to experience our guided walks, wildlife and fun activities which will be on offer throughout the day.”
There will be food and refreshments available all day from the National Park Visitor Centre Tearooms and an outside bar organised by Tomos Watkin brewery. Posters for the ‘Party in the Park’ will soon be appearing everywhere but in the meantime if you would like further information please call Andrew Powell on 01874 624 979 or email andrew.powell@breconbeacons.org
