Keeping the South Downs safe

The Campaign for National Parks was instrumental in securing the protection of the South Downs as a National Park, working with many local and national partners to secure this hard fought victory.

Already, we have seen off the first major planning threat to the Park’s natural beauty through our campaign with local communities against a proposed new quarry at Horncroft.

Later this year, we’ll be bringing together people with an interest in the wonderful wildlife of the South Downs, to look at how important species and habitats can be protected and restored in the future.
