Opening the South Downs up to everyone

In keeping with the founding spirit of the early campaigners for National Parks, our Mosaic project opens up National Parks to people who traditionally do not think or know that Parks are relevant to them, such as those from minority communities and young people.
We support and train a network of volunteers, National Park Champions, who then promote the opportunities and benefits of National Parks to other people from their communities.
In the South Downs our Champions are already hard at work and are planning visits to the Downs by a local youth group and an elders’ lunch club of people from minority communities. One of our Champions from London is planning to bring people from London and Brighton together with people who live in the South Downs through an intriguing sounding series of ‘English Walks and Caribbean Foods’.
