Adventure begins at home

Despite conquering the highest peaks, trekking to the coldest and remotest ends of the earth and rowing across the Atlantic ocean, Sir Chris Bonington and Ben Fogle last night admitted that all the adventure you need can be found in the spectacular National Parks of Britain.

Both adventurers gave an audience of over 500 a fascinating insight into what motivates and drives them to succeed in the most challenging places on earth.  In conversation with journalist Libby Purves, Chris and Ben kept a packed auditorium enthralled with tales of frost bite, nudity, avalanches and bear attacks!

Both told very different stories of adventure but agreed on one important factor – the role that the British countryside had played in inspiring them.
