Mountaineering legend Sir Chris Bonington and writer/adventurer Ben Fogle share a personal insight into their favourite adventure. In conversation with Libby Purves they reflect on how their early experiences in the British countryside generated a spirit of exploration that has seen them succeed in the most challenging places on earth. We catch Chris on a short break between climbing in the Atlas mountains in March and preparing for his 50th Anniversary trek to North Annapurna in the Himalaya in May.
The event is being held at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS), the learned society and professional body for geography and geographers. Entrance on Exhibition Road. Doors will open at 6pm and drinks will be available in the Map Room before and after the lecture.
All proceeds to the Campaign for National Parks.
