CNP President

CNP welcomed Ben Fogle as its new President on 18th July 2007.  Ben takes over the role from Brian Blessed who had held the position for 6 years.

Ben Fogle was born in 1973, educated in Dorset, Costa Rica and Portsmouth, and served as an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Ben shot to fame on the BBC Television programme Cast Away 2000. He has since presented a number of programmes such as Animal Park and Countryfile and has travelled the world for a variety of broadcasting assignments.  Ben is an accomplished writer and has published 3 books to date.  Ben's sporting achievements include the Safaricom Marathon Kenya and rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in 49 days with James Cracknell.

Ben is involved with many charities, and says of his Presidency of CNP, "I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be the President of CNP.  As a keen walker, adventurer and advocate of the countryside I believe that the work of CNP is vital for the continuing conservation of our world class National Parks".
