Health and well-being in the Parks

National Parks are places where you can enjoy quiet moments of reflection or challenge yourself physically in stunning surroundings and are Britain's breathing spaces.
With media reports of an increasingly unhealthy and inactive population, National Parks have a clear role to play in improving the health and well-being of the nation.
Around the Parks a number of initiatives have been introduced to encourage physical activity, in particular walking. For example, the Pembrokeshire Coast's succesful Steps2Health programme of guided walks. As well as walking, National Parks also offer a range of other healthy recreational activities and provide many opportunities for people to discover emotional and spiritual well-being.
